I completed my degree in journalism and began my career in mass media. Attention to detail and being an effective communicator were important skill sets I developed.
Many years ago, I helped coordinate the construction of a friend's house. Over the course of the project, I realized I had a passion for construction. I enjoyed learning about construction plans, materials and the process itself. Eventually, I opened and operated my own wood flooring company. I gained a new perspective of the building industry as a subcontractor trade dealing with general contractors, clients, suppliers, scheduling, and quality control. Operating a successful woman-owned business in the construction industry requires a high level of grit and perseverance.
The skills I had acquired as a journalist played a big role in building my own network of clients. Establishing long-term client relationships, no matter the industry, is done through solid quality work and strong communication skills.
Every home is a three dimensional puzzle, where everything has to fall in place precisely at the right time. As part of the A. Perry Homes accounting and operations team, my role is to ensure that happens everyday. I apply my twenty years of experience of creating happy clients, working together with the whole team. I am proud to be part of something special here at A. Perry Homes.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me on the ski slopes in the winter or gardening in the summer as a garden club member at Kilbourn Park in Chicago.
